Bed was big. Room was clean. Other amenities were nice, such as the pools and bar.
Staff seemed short and distant when I checked in. The parking garage is very tight, so if u have an suv or truck you will have to park in overflow behind flagship motel accross the street. lots of peeling paint on the balcony railings. Room was ok but cudve used some updating.
We were told that we could check in at no later than 4pm guarenteed. We finally got checked in at 5:30pm. We were told that every room has a private balcony, but failed to mention that it meant every room except for those on the first floor. The bathroom was too small.
Was impressed with the room. Very nice and extremely comfortable!
Tiny bathroom (where the toilet is...not where the sink and shower are) was way too small. A large person couldn't manage it.
I liked the location of the hotel.
The parking deck was horrible! The rooms were not as pictured eventhough it was roomey.
The location is great, and the room was good. It is at the less crowded south end of the Virginia Beach boardwalk.
Slow elevators and horrible parking garage.
I loved that I could see the ocean from my bed!
No on premises dining during off season.
Quiet, great beach veiw, great food in area, good access to highway
Heating system needs work. Pool to small. Once a month pull furniture from wall and vacuum, Clean windows for new guest. Extra sheets had hundreds of towels only one set of sheets
We stayed when Super Storm Sandy was approaching and we were moving my mother in law that weekend. So it was a great place to just crash for the evening. We soaked in the jacuzzi tub and literally just watched the waves crashing the beach as we fell asleep. We liked the availability of the pool, just didn't use it. Weren't there long enough. Nothing against beach quarters, but it's sad that if I wanted to sit on the balcony in middle of afternoon (say 2p) I couldn't do it. We check in after 3or4p, then check out by 10a. if we came back, we'd need to do a 2-day stay just so we can really get the full value of the view and use the facilities to its fullest. We'd probably be willn to give it another shot
In our room, the bathroom floor felt very slippery, more greasy than slippery. I had to wear shoes when i went to the bathroom. That's a weird feeling to have your feet slide as you're going to the bathroom. another thing that I didn't like, can't hold beach quarters to it - we're non smokers. some one close to us did smoke. It's no fun to all of a sudden get bombarded w/ cigarette smoke. We had our door open to hear the beautiful sounds of the ocean waves. We're not gonna close our door to avoid the smoke.
Roof Pool is heated, ocean view is terrific, close to all action if you want it. Decent balcony overlooking the boardwalk and surfers. Staff friendly and helpful.
Noisy when festivals are on but thats to be expected. You have to ask to park in overflow parking across the street behind another hotel but parking there was great. You can access Pacific Ave. from that lot. Reviews on inside parking are somewhat accurate - vans, any longer vehicle will have trouble negotiating ramps but smaller vehicles should have no problem. Cleaners need to be a bit more diligent even after being tipped.
restaurant location good rooms clean but old
Did not look anything like the website did not indicate that the pool bar and sun deck was closed for the season Car park very tight
It was at the end of the boardwalk so if you were going out for a walk/run you knew how many miles you were going.
Loved the location with balcony over-looking the VA Beach Boardwalk and the rooftop pool along with the indoor pool. Facility was well-secured and staff was friendly. No pressure to take tour of facility which I appreciated.
Parking garage was extremely tight. We have a full-size van and it took care to get in/out of the garage. We had a king-size suite with a jacuzzi. I found it odd that there was no privacy to the sink/tub area and would have liked a door or screen that could have separated the bed area.
We liked the fact that it was ocean front and had a great view.
There was no real restaurant on the premises...that would have been nice. Also, although we enjoy a smoke free room, the people in the room next to ours would go out on their balcony to smoke. We like to leave our balcony door open, with the air conditioning turned off of course to hear the waves of the ocean. With smoke coming in from the balcony next door we could not enjoy that small pleasure.
I loved staying there is so nice and nice view.
I did noy like the parking it was so hard ti go up... We have a big van and my friends a truck and it took us for ever to get out..... I will love to go back but we are thinking about it because of that.
When checking in received a smart comment from receptionist, and not a welcoming invite.
